Comparative Analysis of Random Unitary Matrix Generators Using Programmable Photonic Circuits

Photonic integrated random unitary matrix generators based on multiport directional couplers are analyzed. Up to $512 \times 512$ matrix with complete Haar randomness is obtained by only three phase shifting layers, significantly reducing number of phase shifters.
