High-Harmonic Generation Directly Driven with 250 MW Thin-Disk Oscillator System

Precision spectroscopy of Th-229 and He+ ions, which requires coherent light sources in the vacuum ultraviolet (~ 148 nm) and extreme ultraviolet (~60 nm), can be effectively achieved using high harmonic generation (HHG), a versatile technique for producing such wavelengths. In this study, we demonstrate the generation of the 7th harmonic (~ 148 nm) using a thin-disk oscillator with high average and peak power [1]. The results are compared to the same HHG experiments performed with the commercial regenerative amplifier system.
