Smart Telemedicine: Leveraging IoT to Transform Remote Healthcare Monitoring and Access

This study investigates the effectiveness and efficiency of smart telemedicine solutions that leverage Internet of Things (IoT) devices and telecommunications to enhance remote healthcare monitoring and access in resource-limited settings. A mixed-methods approach combined quantitative data on the clinical impact of IoTenabled telemedicine with qualitative interviews capturing user experiences. Findings indicate that smart telemedicine significantly improves patient monitoring accuracy, reduces healthcare delivery costs, and expands access to medical services for populations in remote areas. Enhanced interoperability among IoT devices facilitates seamless data exchange, leading to more informed clinical decisions. These outcomes underscore the transformative potential of this approach, especially in underserved regions, while emphasizing the need for supportive technology policies within health systems. Furthermore, the study suggests that wider implementation may foster more equitable healthcare access, influencing policy and funding decisions in disadvantaged areas. Overall, it provides a foundation for future research on scaling and adapting smart telemedicine, highlighting the importance of addressing systemic factors and patient engagement strategies across diverse healthcare environments.
