Novel Autonomous Tennis Ball Shooter Robot: Electrical Design and Control

This paper presents the electrical and control system design of a dual-degree-of-freedom autonomous tennis ball shooting robot, expanding our previous work that focused on its mechanical structure. To achieve precise and repeatable ball launching, we developed a robust electronic architecture incorporating closed-loop motor control, a web-based user interface, and parallel processing using the Raspberry Pi Pico W's dualcore functionality. Motor selection and power distribution were optimized to support real-world ball speeds and accurate targeting. The resulting system demonstrates enhanced responsiveness, controllability, and adaptability, laying the groundwork for future integration of player feedback and environment-aware behavior.
