Network Container: Isolation Mechanism for Distribution Transparent Computing

Using edge computing, data and procedures are distributed over a network. There distributed data and procedures are used by again distributed procedures. In such a fully distributed computing environment, distribution transparent computing is helpful to develop and manage applications. Assemble Computing was proposed to support distribution transparency at network level. The original proposal of Assemble Computing, however, has not supported multi-tenancy. In this paper, an isolation mechanism to support multi-tenancy for Assemble Computing is proposed. Several approaches to support distribution transparency with isolation, including the proposed one, are compared and some advantages of the proposed mechanism are shown.
