Modeling of RF Links and Simulation of Strong Electromagnetic Effects in 5G Base Stations

Communication system base stations situated in coastal and border regions exhibit heightened susceptibility to strong electromagnetic pulses. This paper introduces an integrated model of the 2.6 G Active Antenna Unit (AAU) radio frequency link, utilizing electromagnetic simulation software, CST. The study conducts simulations to evaluate the impact of various sources of strong electromagnetic interference, analyzes the critical vulnerable components of the AAU radio frequency link, and provides a theoretical foundation for assessing the electromagnetic pulse resistance capabilities of critical communication facilities. Furthermore, the research provides valuable insights to inform the formulation of subsequent electromagnetic protection strategies.
