Optimization of Duct Modeling and Drawing Generation Functions Based on CATIA V6

To address the efficiency bottlenecks in 3D modeling and 2D drawing processes of the native duct module in CATIA V6 for ship engineering, this paper proposes a 3D design technical approach that optimizes native functional modules through EKL and CAA secondary development. Based on the CATIA V6 platform, the method integrates preliminary design work into the modeling process through secondary development tools, enabling automatic duct sizing and model dimension updates. Meanwhile, engineering templates and parametric modeling are employed to construct a component library for accessories, which achieves global updates through external link associations with duct models. By utilizing secondary development tools and standardized model attribute definitions, functions such as automatic numbering of duct accessories and BOM table auto-generation are realized during 2D drawing processes. Practical implementation in ship projects demonstrates that deep integration of secondary development tools with engineering knowledge systems, combined with parametric association networks and intelligent decision-making mechanisms, can effectively standardize design processes, enhance data integrity of 3D models, and improve automation levels in 2D drawing production. This approach provides reliable technical support for the digital design of marine ventilation systems.
