Research on the Application of Multi Factor Authentication Technology for 5G Terminals in the Coal Industry

With the rise of the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation represented by the fifthgeneration mobile communication technology (referred to as “5G”), more opportunities and innovation space have been brought to various industries, promoting the rapid development of the digital economy. At the same time, the secure access of 5 G networks has become a focal point of attention. In particular, in the context of coal mining business scenarios, there are a variety of terminals such as 5 G mobile phones, Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), 5G cameras, intelligent sensors, and mining equipment like roadheaders. The access of these terminal devices poses significant risks. Therefore, researching secure and reliable authentication technologies for 5G terminals has become a primary issue at present. This paper first analyzes and investigates the types and characteristics of 5 G terminals in the coal industry. It then studies and designs an application framework and process for heterogeneous terminal multi-factor authentication technology in the coal industry. This framework and process enable secure authentication of terminal access to the enterprise's Data Network (DN) and meet the security requirements for the access of heterogeneous 5 G terminals in the coal industry.
