Design of Open-Sourced Energy Saving Module for Lifts

The effective utilization of time and energy conservation has become a fundamental necessity in today’s world. The increasing rate of urbanization and demographic shift has made lifts an essential feature of high-rise buildings. However, the increased reliance on lifts has also led to various challenges. Misuse can result in calls to incorrect floors and unnecessary trips. Interestingly, while elevators consume between 4% and 10% of energy when in motion, the energy they consume while in standby mode is significantly higher. Research shows that the share of energy used by lifts in standby mode can reach up to 80% of total consumption. This highlights that energy waste from lifts is a pressing issue. In response to this challenge, this research aims to develop a open-sourced energy saving model for lifts. Moreover, the short recovery periods of the energy-saving models integrated into the project will be a critical factor in their adoption. The project’s objective extends beyond energy savings; it seeks to enhance the overall quality of life within society. It is important to recognize the crucial role played by the quick recovery times of these energy-efficient elevator models in promoting broader acceptance of such technologies. Ultimately, this project aspires to serve as a significant example of energy efficiency and improved quality of life for the future.
