Application and Distribution of Interactive HTML5 Content within Online Courses to Increase Learner Engagement

This research systematically evaluates the impact of interactive HTML5 content (H5P) on learner engagement within an online learning environment. Employing a quantitative approach, the study analyzes learning analytics data collected from approximately 160 undergraduate students across multiple course modules. Specifically, it examines how varying the type, quantity, and diversity of H5P interactive activities influences key engagement indicators, including interaction frequency, engagement duration, and participation depth. The findings demonstrate a statistically significant enhancement in learner engagement in modules featuring diverse and strategically deployed interactive HTML5 elements compared to those lacking such interactive components. These results underscore the pedagogical efficacy of incorporating interactive digital content as a targeted strategy to elevate and sustain learner engagement in online educational contexts.
