Three-Dimensional Multiprocessing Gray Scale Image Encryption

With the growing multimedia technology the demand for encrypted images has increased. Gray scale images are used in various fields like the health sector, military, defense, astronomy, businesses and so on. It is also necessary to keep these images safe and secure from unauthorized people, which is done by image encryption and decryption process. Using image encoding and decoding, the image can be stored or transferred safely and securely. A new three-dimensional (3D) multiprocessing image encryption and decryption method is introduced in this paper. 3D images ensure that information within the image is safe from different types of attacks and errors. Using the 3D format errors or any changes can be detected and corrected to an extent. To encrypt and decrypt the image different types of operation like random sequence and Arnold Transform are used. Using Python and multiprocessing, module processes are executed in parallel. The proposed algorithm encrypts 36% faster than the sequential encryption and parallel decryption is 44% faster than the sequential decryption. The experimental findings show that the suggested method outperforms the other algorithms documented in the literature in specific areas and is robust against different kinds of noise and attacks.
