Tuning of Band 41 Filter for 5G Mobile Communication

This study uses simulation software to analyze the characteristics of 5G Mobile Communication filters. The fundamental resonator is established based on the Butterworth-Van Dyke (BVD) Model equivalent circuit. In the analysis of resonator components, the impacts of different values of series and parallel capacitors and inductors on the resonator's resonance frequency are explored. The resonator parameters obtained from the BVD Model are used to construct filters, incorporating various circuit configurations, including Ladder type-T structures and Ladder type-π structures. By adjusting the parameters of individual resonator components, a band-pass filter compliant with the B41 band standard is successfully designed. The designed ladder filter has a center frequency of 2593 MHz and a 3 dB bandwidth of 194 MHz. As the number of resonator stages increases, the filter bandwidth can be modified. For reasonable bandwidth requirements, the desired specification can be achieved by changing the number of filter stages.
