Analysis and Optimization for Reducing Vibrations in Shallot Harvester

The paper has investigated the vibration of the onion harvester by modeling and simulating it in Matlab Simulink software. The survey conditions with the model are close to reality. The field surface has a bumpy surface in the form of sinusoidal, pulse shapes and randomly causing excitation forces on the four wheels, and vibrates the harvester. A Genetic Algorithm (GA) has been used to optimize the parameters to reduce the RMS values of the acceleration affecting the person sitting to pack the product. The optimal parameters have 8 parameters, including the harvester’s stiffness and damping coefficients. As a result of optimization, the RMS value of the oscillation acceleration at all evaluation points decreased by more than 50% compared to the initial RMS value. According to the ISO 2631 standard, the resulting acceleration value of a rms $=0.2 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}^{2}$, indicating that the vibrations do not adversely affect human health. The research results provide a scientific basis for finding reasonable design parameters for the onion harvester, and can also be used as a reference document in determining vibration on human in the agricultural sector.
