Calculation of Cross-Correlation of Sub-Diagrams in BDD Packages

In signal processing, cross-correlation is a measure of similarity between two signals based on their relative shift. In switching theory, calculating the cross-correlation of two Boolean functions yields an integer vector of coefficients called the cross-correlation spectrum. In binary decision diagrams (BDDs), these coefficients can be used to determine the measure similarity between two sub-diagrams. Therefore, this paper presents an efficient implementation of the calculation of the cross-correlation coefficients of sub-diagrams in BDD. The implementation was realized as an extension of the common principles on which BDD packages are based. Experimental results using standard benchmark functions show that the calculation time is not very long, while in the case of calculating a large number of coefficients, the memory requirements can be very demanding.
