Investigation of the Quantitative Reliability Characteristics of the Transmission System in a 4×2 Wheel Drive Vehicle

The present study examines the quantitative reliability characteristics of a vehicle transmission system with a 4×2 wheel configuration. A description is provided, along with diagrams of mechanical transmissions in vehicles featuring a front-mounted power unit and a rear driving axle. The exponential distribution law is applied, which is typical for complex systems such as automotive transmissions. The study presents changes in the failure rate (intensity function) and failure density based on varying vehicle mileage. Additionally, the probability of fault-free operation and the probability of failure for the investigated system are determined.
