Technology of 3D Printing of Objects with Carbon Adhesive

Currently, the global market for additive technologies has exceeded $12 billion. Among these technologies, 3D printing installations stand out as particularly significant. In terms of production and implementation of 3D printing technologies, the Russian Federation ranks approximately ninth globally. The most widespread technology in 3D printing is Fused Deposition Modeling or layer-by-layer object manufacturing. However, this method has certain drawbacks, including weak interlayer adhesion and low precision, which lead to inferior mechanical properties of printed objects. To address these issues, a new approach to 3D printing with enhanced mechanical characteristics was developed using an adhesive material composed of carbon nanotubes combined with a liquid adhesive substance. To implement this approach, a prototype of the adhesive application design was developed, consisting of a housing with a reservoir for the adhesive substance and two rollers. These rollers apply the adhesive substance to the filament during the operation of the 3D printer. This innovative technique will enable high-quality fabrication of objects with complex geometries.
