A Comprehensive Survey of Cyber-crimes: Impacts, Classification and Prevention

The rapid development of technology inevitably brings concerns and problems. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of cyber-crimes, discussing their definition, analyzing their economic, safety and security, and legislative impacts. The paper categorizes cyber-crimes into assets-related, safety and security-related and emotion-related crimes based on their nature. In addition, the study further explores several human-based and computer-based prevention and mitigation strategies, emphasizing the importance of utilizing multiple methods to combat cyber-crimes. Moreover, the paper examines the challenges of fighting against cyber-crimes, especially caused by the raising of AI. At the end, future steps are discussed, highlighting the necessity of promulgation of AI law and policies. This survey aims to integrate current knowledge on cyber-crimes, providing an in-time foundation for future research to enhance cyber security.
