AI-Empowered Reform of Computer General Education in Minority Regions: A Study at Qinghai Minzu University

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is profoundly influencing technological and industrial transformations, presenting new demands in the field of education. In minority regions, computer general education, serving as a crucial foundation for cultivating innovative talent, urgently needs to adapt to this trend. Traditional computer courses, centered on basic knowledge and programming, can no longer fully meet the comprehensive requirements for interdisciplinary talent in the AI era. Taking QingHai Minzu University (QMU) as a case study, this research analyzes the current state and existing issues of the university's computer general education curriculum, explores the reform pathways for computer general education courses empowered by AI, and establishes a systematic evaluation mechanism to assess the effectiveness of the reforms. Preliminary practice indicates that the Introduction to AI course has achieved significant improvements in course design, teaching quality, and learning outcomes following the reforms.
