Mixed Mode: More than Analog and Digital

In this paper we present some research results of the endeavors of the High Frequency Laboratory at the INAOE, in Puebla, Mexico. For over 35 years, the group has been dedicated to the modeling and characterization of active and passive devices for RF applications, both on-chip and on PCB. Passive devices encompass inductors, interconnects, and antennas. Modern mixed-mode circuits are made of more than analog and digital components; for RF applications, they must include several passive devices as well. We also present some important considerations on high-frequency de-embedding of structures.
