Health Assessment Method for Gas-Insulated Switchgear Based on Fault Tree Analysis

As a critical infrastructure component in modern power systems, Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) plays a pivotal role in ensuring grid stability and power supply reliability. Current maintenance strategies predominantly relying on periodic manual inspections exhibit limitations in achieving intelligent diagnostics and predictive maintenance. To address this technical challenge, this study proposes a novel health assessment framework integrating fault tree analysis (FTA) with reliability theory. The methodology involves three progressive phases: (1) Systematic construction of fault trees for steam isolation valve systems through Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA); (2) Development of a risk assessment matrix incorporating practical engineering parameters for quantitative risk evaluation; (3) Formulation of reliability metrics using mathematical modeling including time-dependent reliability functions, failure rate functions, and system failure probability density functions. The research outcomes provide theoretical guidance and technical references for advancing precision maintenance and intelligent operation of next-generation power systems.
