Full Element Modelling and Real-time Simulation of a Security and Stability Control Device

With the construction of new power system, the security and stability characteristics of power system have undergone profound changes. The traditional hardware in the loop experimental verification approach limited in the flexibility, comprehensiveness. Therefore, it is necessary to construct full element model of Security and Stability Control System (SSCS) that break through the limitations and improve the reliability of the SSCS. This paper presents the modeling principles of universality, fidelity and interactivity. Then, a modular modeling method is proposed based on the Security and Stability Control Devices (SSCDs) functions. A co-simulation platform is constructed which includes real time simulator and RTDS. It provides a platform and support for the operational reliability experimental verification of SSCS. The digital model integrates the power grid and SSCS of a real engineering project is studied. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method and correctness of the SSCD model.
