Vibroacoustic Study of Tonewood and Solid-Body Guitar

Vibroacoustic is a study of relation between the excitation force to a structure and the sound radiation produced by the vibration of the structure. In this work, mechanical properties, e.g. Young's modulus and damping loss factor, of three types of tonewood were measured via vibration testing. The vibration and acoustic response of solid-body guitars were measured. The loss factor of the guitar bodies were discussed.
