Research on Real-Time Scheduling Optimization and Performance Enhancement in Embedded Linux

The widespread application of embedded technology across various industries relies heavily on the effective support of operating systems. The Linux operating system, owing to its open-source nature, flexibility, and extensive community support, has been extensively adopted in the embedded domain. However, as a general-purpose time-sharing and multitasking operating system, its default scheduling mechanism often falls short in scenarios demanding high real-time performance. To address this limitation, this paper proposes an optimization method to enhance the real-time capabilities of Linux through the implementation of real-time patches. Initially, common real-time scheduling algorithms are introduced. Subsequently, the advantages and disadvantages of the Linux operating system in embedded applications are analyzed, followed by a detailed elaboration of the steps involved in performance optimization. Finally, through experimental testing and comparative analysis, the significant impact of real-time patches in improving the real-time performance of Linux is validated.
