Optimization of PCIe Signal Based on Equalization Technology: Principles and Practice

The PCIe standard, introduced by PCI-SIG, is a motherboard expansion bus standard designed to achieve high-speed serial communication between the CPU and its peripheral components. Today, it has become the main standard for motherboard expansion buses and is also a commonly used communication method in many onboard applications. The PCIe Switch, in particular, is widely used in server products. If not properly handled, high-speed PCIe transmission signals can lead to issues such as channel non-recognition, reduced speed, and decreased bandwidth. This paper discusses the application of equalization technology in addressing PCIe signal integrity. Through actual debugging of PCIe 3.0 switches (such as Pex8748), the role of signal equalization in improving system performance and reliability is verified. The research findings of this paper have positive guiding significance for further optimizing PCIe 3.0 (or higher-speed) signal transmission and enhancing system stability and performance.
