Enhanced Implementation of a NOAA Satellite Image Reception System with Software-Defined Radio for Climate Change Monitoring in Agriculture

Monitoring climate change is critical for the agricultural sector to adapt to increasing environmental challenges. This paper presents the design, implementation, and -validation of a low-cost NOAA satellite image reception system using Software-Defined Radio (SDR). The proposed solution enables real-time acquisition of meteorological data to support informed agricultural decisionmaking. We describe the system architecture, signal decoding methodology, and results obtained from multiple field experiments under varying conditions. The system demonstrated consistent performance and generated usable imagery with minimal infrastructure. This work contributes to the development of affordable tools for environmental monitoring, particularly in rural and educational contexts.
