Design and Development of a Sub-6 Ghz Tri-Band Microstrip Patch Antenna for 5G Communication

The expansion of 5G networks has increased the demand for antenna systems that can operate across various frequency bands. Therefore, a sub- 6 GHz tri-band microstrip patch antenna for 5 G signaling applications, has been designed and developed in this research. The CST Computer Simulation Technology microwave studio is utilized in this work. The proposed antenna can work in the $2.5 \text{GHz}, 3.5 \text{GHz}$, and 4.68 GHz frequency bands, and it exhibits good performance and an impedance of 48.7 ohms. The VSWR value is $1-1.5 \text{GHz}$. It also has a high directivity of gain, and the shape of the radiation pattern is very important for the design of an antenna. Moreover, the antenna is small, low-cost, and has a simple design that is prefect for different operating bands. Although the antenna is tiny, it works at a wide bandwidth, which is useful for a thin and quick transmission device.
