Analytical Study of the Intermittent Operation Mode of Warm Air Heating in a Warehouse for Storage and Freight Forwarding of Goods and Materials

The storage of various goods and materials requires specific conditions regarding air temperature and humidity. This paper presents the results of an analytical study on transient processes during the intermittent operation of warm-air heating in a warehouse used for storage and dispatch, with the aim of reducing operational costs, as well as in cases of heat supply failure due to emergencies. Different configurations of a facility built using a metal structure and thermal insulation panels are examined. The study varies parameters such as the thermal resistance and surface area of the enclosing elements (panel thickness and building form factor), the initial indoor air temperature, the outdoor air temperature, and the heating source power.
