Smart Soil Nutrient Monitoring and Crop Suggestion Analysis System using IoT

Soil quality and environmental factors are critical determinants of agricultural efficiency. This paper presents an IoT-based intelligent soil nutrient monitoring and crop recommendation system designed to assist farmers in managing soil health effectively. The system integrates NPK sensors, a DHT11 sensor, an Arduino UNO, and an LCD screen to continuously assess key soil nutrients as well as ambient temperature and humidity. The collected data is transmitted to the ThingSpeak platform for visualization and long-term analysis. Additionally, SMS alerts are dispatched to farmers, providing both soil status updates and suitable crop recommendations based on the detected nutrient levels. This approach supports smart farming practices and enhances decision-making for higher productivity and sustainable agriculture.
