Introduction of Status About Study on Updating of JAXA EMC Test Standard

The JAXA EMC test standard working group is currently studying an updating of its EMC test standard for spacecraft. This new revision is intended to shift from the longused test method based on MIL-STD-461 C to a form referring to MIL-STD-461 G. This will result in a notable change in test methods. The test standards to be applied should be selected in consideration of the characteristics of space equipment, changes in noise immunity of electronic equipment due to the progress of digitalization, reflection of lessons learned from past missions, efficient implementation of tests, etc. In this paper, the latest status of JAXA's study about new EMC test standard for spacecraft on the test conditions of the newly introduced test method, demonstration results of the application of CS116 to signal lines, and a comparison of the Reverberation Chamber (RVC) and conventional test methods for radiated immunity testing will be presented.
