IoT based Battery Management System and Colling System for Electric Vehicle

Electric Vehicles (EVs) are redefining sustainable transportation by offering environmentally friendly alternatives to internal combustion engines. At the heart of these vehicles lies the Lithium-ion battery, which is critical for efficient power delivery and vehicle reliability. However, these batteries require precise monitoring of key parameters such as voltage, temperature, and State of Charge (SOC) to ensure safety, performance, and longevity. This project presents a novel IoT-based Battery Management System (BMS) with an integrated Thermal Management System (TMS) tailored specifically for EV applications. Utilizing microcontrollers such as the ESP8266 and Arduino UNO, the system gathers real-time data from various sensors and processes it using wireless connectivity. A multiplexer is employed to manage multiple inputs efficiently, and data is displayed on both an onboard LCD and a mobile interface via the Blynk IoT platform. The system also includes a solar-powered cooling mechanism that activates automatically when thermal thresholds are exceeded, effectively preventing overheating and enhancing battery lifespan. This dual-layer management approach not only ensures real-time diagnostics and control but also significantly improves the overall reliability and energy efficiency of the electric vehicle.
