Simulation and Optimal Design of the Driving Unit of Pipeline Cleaning Robots Driven by High-Pressure Water

In pipeline cleaning robots, the number of impeller cavities, the width of blades, and the diameter of the water inlet in the water-driven unit will directly affect the output torque of the driving unit, thereby influencing the cleaning efficiency and effect. Aiming at the driving process, through analysis and theoretical calculation, with the goal of optimizing the output torque of the driving unit, taking the finite element software Fluent as the simulation tool, the orthogonal experiment method is adopted to study and analyze the influence of various parameters on the output torque. The simulation results show that the diameter of the water inlet of the driving unit has the greatest impact on the output torque. The number of cavities and the blade width have a positive impact within a certain range, but will reduce the output efficiency if they exceed this range. The optimal combination of parameters is 10 cavities, a blade width of 45 mm, and a water inlet diameter of 8 mm. This research is to better design the hydraulic driving unit and provide a reference for improving the output torque and output power.
