Implementation of Web Cache Replacement Algorithm for E-commerce

Network performance can be enhanced by caching frequently accessed web pages. This strategy was developed to reduce the amount of data transferred to and from the server, as well as the amount of time spent waiting for a web page to load. Web caching allows pages to load faster for users. The page replacement policy of the caching system is crucial when the cache is full and a fresh document must be stored. Caching can be done either by the client or by the proxy server. By caching frequently visited websites locally, a web proxy can speed up page loads, decrease network traffic, and minimize server queries. If the cache is full when a page from the cache is requested, one or more documents may be removed from storage to make room. How efficiently a proxy changes pages depends on the mechanism it uses to do so. Different replacement rules decide which files are deleted from the cache and why. There are now a variety of cache refresh strategies in use. Each of these strategies, focusing on either the hit rate, the byte hit rate, the average delay, or the total cost—serves the same underlying purpose: to reduce the system's running costs. This research demonstrates how to optimize the efficiency of Web caches by modifying the Least-Frequent-Use (LFU) and (Multi-Level Least Frequently Used) algorithms. The suggested strategy considers how often and how recently a page is updated, as well as its overall popularity. Users' actual online actions allow for this to happen.
