IoT-Driven Battery Health Management and Tracking for Eco-friendly and Efficient Electric Transportation

The IoT-based battery management and health monitoring system presented in this work, handles the necessary parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH), that can serve any electric transportation. Together, these constraints play an important role in improving the performance of the system, ensuring the batteries operation within optimal ranges during charging, reliability, and safety of the battery in various applications. The system uses IoT technology to continuously monitor and control voltage and current, ensuring that the battery operates in optimal environments. The temperature is carefully controlled, to prevent overheating during charging or low temperatures that could damage the performance of the battery. In addition, the system provides energy efficiency to reduce waste and improve sustainable energy storage solutions. Real-time monitoring of the SOC provides users with accurate information about energy availability, while SOH analysis enables predictive maintenance, reducing environmental pollution by extending battery life and reducing the need for frequent replacement. The experimental hardware platform presents the implementation of maintaining and reporting of health parameters of the battery and mimics an efficient electric transportation system.
