Optimal Design of High-Voltage Cascaded Energy Storage System

With the expansion of the grid-connected scale of new energy power generation, the requirements of the power grid for battery energy storage power stations are constantly increasing. As a new energy storage solution, the high-voltage cascaded energy storage system, based on the modular H-bridge chain topology, can reduce the transformer boosting link and improve the operation efficiency. This paper expounds on the topological structure of the system, including the power unit module and the overall topology of the energy storage system. Taking an actual project as an example, the parameter design methods of key components such as battery modules, power unit modules, reactors, starting resistors, and switches are introduced. The layout methods of power unit modules, battery cabinets, energy storage prefabricated cabins, and grid-connected equipment in the system are described. The research results provide a comprehensive theoretical and practical reference for the optimal design of high-voltage cascaded energy storage systems and contribute to promoting their application in the field of large-scale energy storage.
