Road Divider Based Dynamic Wireless EV Charging System with Smart Vehicle Detection

Electric mobility continues to advance as a sustainable solution to urban transportation, yet the challenge of efficient energy replenishment during transit remains critical. A dynamic wireless energy transfer method is explored in this work, leveraging a conductor system embedded along the central road divider to provide real-time charging to electric vehicles. The system comprises three coordinated units: the first monitors vehicle movement through entry and exit detection mechanisms; the second modulates the activation of power transmission circuits based on this real-time detection; and the third manages the inductive or capacitive energy delivery as vehicles move through the energized segment. This infrastructure design enables vehicles in both directions to draw energy simultaneously, enhancing the utilization of the charging field while minimizing redundant hardware deployment. By enabling energy flow only when vehicles are present, the setup minimizes energy loss, improves transfer efficiency, and aligns with smart transportation frameworks aimed at scalable, uninterrupted EV operation. The proposed system reflects a step toward integrated urban electrification solutions and contributes to the broader goal of seamless, on-the-go energy access for electric fleets.
