Investigation and Implementation of a ZigBee-Based Online Temperature Monitoring System for the Ring Main Unit Elbow Cable Head

Currently, it is impossible to assess the temperature of the cable plug-in plugs in the distribution network's central network cabinet directly, creating a blind spot for inspections. These same areas also serve as the primary cause of the distribution network's need for an emergency shutdown in order to repair burn damage and heat during operation and maintenance. This paper developed and applied an online temperature measurement system for ring main unit elbow cable heads based on ZigBee wireless communication technology in the actual power grid, effectively solving the problem of ring main unit elbow cable head and meeting Jiangxi Power Grid's diverse integration and highly elastic power grid construction needs. Due to the cabinet's sealing, the head is unable to detect temperature changes. Simultaneously, we may ply idle resources, concentrate on innovation and development, significantly enhance the power grid's safety and immunity, enhance its auxiliary service capabilities, and encourage the building of new power systems.
