Mechanical Structure Design and Computer Simulation Based on Topology Optimization

This paper investigates the topology optimization design method and its application for three-dimensional mechanical structures. A three-dimensional mechanical structure topology optimization design method considering stress constraints is proposed through in-depth exploration of the basic principles of topology optimization, common algorithms such as density method, level set method, and evolutionary structure optimization method, as well as their combination with finite element analysis (FEA) and computer-aided design (CAD) techniques. A software system for 3D structural optimization design was developed based on the GiD software platform, focusing on solving the problems of structural birth and death unit processing, data grid mapping conversion, and optimization iteration visualization. The system adopts a displacement calculation method that combines direct and iterative methods, and achieves high efficiency and accuracy in structural topology optimization by constructing a finite element mesh model of the maximum design area. In addition, this paper also verified the effectiveness of the proposed method through a typical three-dimensional truss structure optimization example, and the results showed that the optimized design significantly improved the structural performance while achieving the lightweight goal. The research provides theoretical basis and technical support for the optimization design and engineering application of mechanical structures.
