Embedded and Python based Automatic Target Reporting System

The shooting range, a core venue for shooting training, is crucial in modern military training. However, traditional training methods fall short. This paper designs an automatic target - reporting system composed of a lower and an upper computer. The lower computer, with a main control, image acquisition, and communication module, collects images and sends data to the upper one. The upper computer pre - processes images to get a complete chest - ring target, uses the Python - trained YOLOv11 model to identify the target and bullet - hole positions, calculates ring values, and displays results on the GUI. Compared with systems using photoelectric detection, acoustic positioning, and machine recognition, this design is cost - effective, has a high recognition rate, and a short response time, meeting efficiency and precision requirements. Tests show an accuracy of 98.6% in value interpretation and a 0.2 - second response time.
