Revolutionizing Human-Computer Interaction with Deep Learning for Speech Recognition and Voice Assistants

Advanced speech recognition systems through application of the deep learning techniques have transformed the Human-Computer Interface by giving a speech-based and advanced natural and context-aware voice control systems. This paper aims at reviewing the developments of the deep learning methodologies that further improve the efficiency and the precision of speech recognition. The researchers evaluate the proposed approaches and represent the models of traditional HMM-GMM, DNN, LSTM, and transformer-based architectures based on the metrics of word error rate (WER), sentence error rate (SER), and real-time factor. Also, the study looks at how multiple input modalities such as vision and sensors can be integrated to improve the performance of the voice assistant and its users' satisfaction. Privacy and security considerations are also discussed with regard to federated learning and privacy-preserving models that provide substantial enhancement in this sphere. To determine whether the capabilities of the models hold continuous learning potential in order to adapt to new languages, new accents, and increasing user demand. It shows that transformer-based models accomplished better results over other approaches in speech recognition performance and effective integration of modality and privacy-preserving techniques made the system more intelligent, safer, and easier to use.
