Smart Self-Defense Gadget for Women's Safety Using IoT

Many women across the world are victims of immoral physical assault. Security for women is an important concern as the incidences of crime and attacks against women and girls are on rise. A compact embedded wearable device which can provide a self defence mechanism to women in danger is proposed here. Though several smartphone-based apps are available for women's protection, they are triggered only after a touch/shake or click and depend on the presence of smartphone all the time. A wearable device is proposed here that is triggered by automatically sensing an abnormal increase in the heartbeat of the person wearing it, by voice detection or by a manual trigger button. Upon trigger a shock is generated for self defense and live location of the women in danger is shared with the authorized guardians.
