Physical Vibration-Enabled Secure Interaction Technology for IoT Devices

In the era where the Internet of Things (IoT) is ubiquitous, communication channels between smart terminals are beginning to carry an increasingly rich array of user and environmental information, making it more crucial than ever to protect personal data across a wide range of smart devices. Conventional authentication methods, such as passwords and biometrics, are prone to security breaches and cannot protect the communication channels continuously, underscoring the need for a novel secure interaction technology. This paper introduces a secure interaction technique for IoT devices based on physical knocking vibrations, leveraging unique vibration feedback data from human hands for user authentication and secure data transmission. The approach encompasses (1) A knocking vibration-based authentication scheme that can apply to any IoT devices; (2) A triplet network and meta-learning structure to realize location and posture irrelevant for better user experiences; (3) The implementation and evaluation of the proposed scheme demonstrating the technology's feasibility and security. This innovation offers a secure, user-friendly solution for IoT interactions, marking a significant advancement in authentication and data protection in the IoT domain.
