Application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for Learning at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences

This study investigated the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for learning at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. The objective of the study was to investigate the utilization of ICTs for learning by undergraduate students at MUHAS and to point out challenges hindering their utilization. The target population for this study involved undergraduate students from the School of Pharmacy at MUHAS. A total of $\mathrm{N}=20$ students participated in the study. Using quantitative techniques, $\mathrm{N}=20$ (10 %) respondents were surveyed. The data were analyzed quantitatively using SPSS version 20. The findings revealed that there are insufficient ICT resources and inadequate ICT trainings. The study concludes that a low level of students' ICT competence, lack of technical support, insufficient ICT resources, and inadequate ICT training are the major challenges that hinder students from employing ICTs in the learning process.
