Analysis of Output Parameter Control Methods for Static Converters in Railway Rolling Stock

This work is devoted to the analysis of the current methods and techniques of control parameters of operation in steady-state and transient regimes of pulse voltage converters, which are designed for use in high-speed trains of passenger railway passenger service of 3 kV DC power grid. As part of this research, a prototype of a $3-\text{kW}$ converter was developed, which converts the constant voltage of a 110 V battery into an alternating voltage of 220 V with a frequency of 50 Hz, which is used as an on-board power source for domestic electrical appliances. The tests were performed according to the established standards and modelled conditions close to those possible in real operation, but not described in the regulations. The issue of introducing additional requirements to the existing standards in the field of converter operation and quality of the voltage generated by the converter in transient modes requires the most attention. In research the methods of structural analysis and field tests are applied. The results of practical tests objectively confirming the necessity of refinement and improvement of the existing methods of control of pulse converters are given.
