Enhancing Medication Management for Elderly Individuals: An IoT-Enabled Pill Organizer Solution

The effective management of medication schedules is crucial for patient adherence and overall health outcomes. However, medication non-adherence remains a significant challenge, leading to increased healthcare costs and adverse health consequences. This research article presents the development of a smart medicine box integrated with voice recognition technology and an Android mobile application to enhance medication management and improve patient adherence. The smart medicine box comprised 21 compartments, specifically designed to store different medications. Voice recognition technology was seamlessly integrated into the box, enabling users to interact with the device using voice commands. Additionally, an Android mobile application served as a control center, offering an intuitive interface to program medication schedules, receive reminders, and track adherence.
