Comparative Analysis on Lithium-Polymer, Lithium-ion and Lithium-coin Batteries for Smart Glove System

In the development process of wearable electronics, choosing a battery is one of the crucial tasks. In contrast to traditional electronics, wearables need to be small, light, and, most importantly, user-safe. This article presents a detailed comparison of three battery technologies, namely lithium-polymer, lithium-ion, and lithium-coin, with a focus on their potential applications in smart glove systems. Because they have wireless communication components, processors, sensors, and other electronics, smart gloves require compact, lightweight power sources that are reliable. Examining the performance, energy density, size, weight, rechargeability, and safety of every battery type, the study takes into consideration the unique requirements of smart wearables. One makes a comparison between lithium-ion and lithium-polymer batteries, which have higher energy densities and can be recharged, and lithium-coin batteries, which are known for their compact size. The objective of this study is to provide light on the optimal battery technology for smart gloves by taking form factor, power requirements, and safety criteria into consideration. Based on performance metrics, the research concludes with recommendations for the ideal battery choice to increase the efficiency and usefulness of smart glove systems.
