Assessment of Self-Reliant Electric Vehicle Charging System Variables

Electric vehicles, or EVs, are regarded as a green and sustainable form of transportation. The success of the EV ecosystem depends not only on the vehicles themselves but also on the supporting charging infrastructure. Self-reliant EV charging stations, equipped with energy storage facilities becomes increasingly essential to ensure uninterrupted charging services. This research paper explores the significance of parameter identification for such charging stations, covering key components of solar PV system and gravitational energy storage mechanism along with battery storage system. The study provides valuable insights into the design and economic feasibility of self-reliant charging stations discussing capital expenditure, operational costs, etc, thereby facilitating informed decision-making for charging infrastructure development. Alternatives like grid-powered stations are compared with stations equipped with storage facilities. By identifying and optimizing these parameters, we can enhance the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of EV charging stations while minimizing the strain on the electrical grid.
