Smart IOT Framework For Predictive Infusion Surveillance

In this paper, we discuss a problem, the survey, and the proposed solution for improving hospital patient safety in India. Challenges in India associated with an upsurge need for nursing workforce include understaffing, unequal distribution of the workload, and errors in intravenous monitoring to patients. Patients may suffer and be exposed to intravenous and other errors mainly because of diversions or from high workload upon nurses. We surveyed from ten hospitals, thirty nurses, and twenty doctors to confirm our problem statement. Our proposed solution has three modules, Intravenous level monitoring module, patient wristband module, nurse wristband module, which were integrated with mobile application. Thus, the overall system is implemented to check the IV levels along with the essential vital signs in addition to monitoring emergency alerts via BLE, UART, and WiFi. The nurse wristband provides real time vibration alerts for critical vitals. This solution enhances patient safety, reduces nurse workload, and perfects healthcare efficiency.
