Development of a Versatile Virtual Sweep Frequency Generator in LabVIEW

Signal generators are essential for testing, debugging, and calibrating electronic circuits because they allow for the precise creation of waveforms for research, communication, and development. This paper presents the a versatile virtual sweep frequency generator based on LabVIEW software. To meet more complex signal processing needs, the signal generator can generate a variety of signal types, each with programmable frequencies and amplitudes in addition to several other adjustable parameters. Both linear and logarithmic frequency sweeps are supported by the developed virtual instrument, especially for applications requiring precise frequency control. It also provides the versatility of both unidirectional and bidirectional frequency sweeps, enabling precise modifications to satisfy a range of testing and analysis requirements. Because of its sophisticated design, the system can process signals more thoroughly in a controlled simulation environment, which makes it easier to conduct precise performance evaluations and experimental validations.
