Impact of Social Media and Screen Time on Children in India

The increasing prevalence of screen time among children has raised significant concerns about its psychological and Oura impact. This study investigates the correlation between screen exposure and various mental health indicators, including mood fluctuations, sleep disturbances, and behavioural changes. Using primary and secondary data, statistical analyses such as correlation tests, regression models, and t-tests were conducted to examine relationships between screen duration and psychological well-being. Results indicate a significant negative correlation between excessive screen use and emotional stability, alongside increased instances of hyperactivity and reduced social engagement. The assessments further highlight the distributional irregularities in behavioural patterns linked to digital consumption. These findings by applying ML emphasize the need for regulated screen exposure to mitigate adverse psychological consequences in children.
