Smart Ration Materials Distribution System

This paper presents an advanced smart ration card system leveraging Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, biometric authentication, and integrated audio feedback mechanisms. The proposed system addresses the inefficiencies and fraud prevalent in the traditional Public Distribution System (PDS) by ensuring secure and accurate ration distribution. Each household is assigned an RFID tag embedded with unique identifiers and comprehensive family data. Biometric verification through fingerprint recognition further enhances security by ensuring that only authorized individuals can access ration supplies. Upon successful authentication, users interact with a keypad to select the type and quantity of ration required, which is displayed on an LCD screen for confirmation. The system employs a microcontroller to manage data processing and control a relay mechanism that dispenses the selected commodities. Audio feedback via an integrated speaker informs users about the transaction status and remaining ration balance, ensuring transparency and ease of use. This innovative approach minimizes human intervention, significantly reduces the possibility of fraudulent activities, and streamlines the ration distribution process. The system’s design includes robust hardware components such as the Arduino microcontroller, RFID reader, LCD display, and various actuators, ensuring reliability and scalability. Experimental results demonstrate the system’s effectiveness in providing a secure, efficient, and user-friendly solution for ration distribution. Future enhancements may include integrating artificial intelligence for predictive analytics, blockchain for transaction security, and mobile applications for real-time user interaction and monitoring.
